Emergency Response Team: Flood Control in Grand Forks, ND; 2009 contingency plan to the dikes

The level of the river is reading 49.22 feet at this point, and we've been getting plenty of snow here in Grand Forks today. Time to have the emergency crew standing by:

Super Bonnie in her ShamWow! Cape, at the Ready

See? I'm on theme today: "Ways to Save."

Y
esterday's attempt to break up the ice jam near Oslo, MN, with a wrecking ball, didn't work. Apparently, Winnepeg has a machine which is like a backhoe that gets driven on the ice, and chomps it up. Kind of like a giant Pac-man, only different. I bet there's some guys who would fight over who'd get to operate that machine!

  1. Super Bonnie has a worried look on her face. (so cute!) We hope and pray she has nothing to worry about.

  2. Whew...glad to hear you are all prepared...just in case!

BTW, did you hear that the ShamWow guy got arrested for supposedly beating up his hooker? I seriously heard that on the radio...What was he thinking??

Keeping fingers, eyes, and toes crossed that you won't need your emergency preparedness team!

  4. Oh I bet Bonnie could TOTALLY take care of it with the sham wow. I think she could clean it all up. I have to laugh at what Jeanne said in her comment. He beat up a HOOKER? You know...that guy did look a bit odd. lol

  5. LOL - Love the expression on her face. Waiting for that elusive shot with her caressing and hugging the ShamWow. However, I hate to hear that things are not looking too bright weather wise for all of you.

  9. LOL on the "Ways to Save" and Super Bonnie must be loving that ShamWow.
As for the super ice chopper, I don't think I want to be in heavy machinery that is sitting the ice I'm chopping up. But, you know boys and their toys.... Still keeping your city in my thoughts.

I see that your friend Jeanne already told you about the ShamWow guy--she stole my thunder. :-D

  15. SuperBonnie looks prepared, but a little concerned. I can just imagine the spray flying as she shakes. And--I don't know that I would want to drive a big heavy piece of machinery onto the ice, and then proceed to chew up the ice...seems to be a little risky. Still sending dry prayers your way.
