But darn that weather curse, whether it's mine or Doug's! Perhaps you noticed that Florida had the worse weather in 10 years this past week. . . and iguanas were getting so cold they were falling from the trees. . .
. . . and then the astute reader of this blog would have figured out where Doug and I were!
Last Friday (Jan. 8th), after checking the forecast, Doug and I scrapped the snorkeling excursions, and packed our winter coats, gloves, and long underwear for a Western Carribean Disney Cruise.
And we had a blast anyway! We got up at 2:45 am in Grand Forks, with the temperature literally at 30 below, windchill -57. We dropped off our luggage at our itty, bitty, little frozen airport, and the next time we saw it, it was delivered to our room in Saratoga Springs hotel at Disney World.

I love you, Disney, even at 27 degrees! (Normally, Orlando is around 72 degrees this time of year. . . "normally" as in when Doug and I are not there!
Look! Water in the winter, and it's NOT FROZEN SOLID!
We spent the night in Orlando, and on Saturday, we climbed aboard the Disney Express headed to Port Orlando and embarked onto the Disney Magic!

Only Doug and I were on this trip, which made for a dramatically different trip than all our vacations of the past, which included our children. But even more extraordinary than being sans offspring for this trip was the fact that neither of us got food poisoning or needed to spend the evening in the ER before the trip!
Who knows? Maybe one day we'll even break our Weather Curse Tradition as well!

Go figure that when you migrate south the weather would follow. Hope you got lots of photos on your trip and share - while we are not the Antarctica like you - some southern sights would be refreshing. Good to see you back.
I have a weather curse too! I family and Miami and my stepmom said it SNOWED. In Miami! Crazy, crazy stuff.
I usually bring the weather with me too...LOL
That stinks! I'm glad you had fun despite the weather.
Glad you "weathered" through and had a great time anyway! lol!
Even the cold in Florida probably seemed to be a break from the extremes in ND. Great photos of Disney World.
There's nothing like Disney, even if the weather is not the best. Glad you had fun. I've never stayed at Saratoga Springs but it looks lovely.
Even if it was cold there, I'll bet it wasn't AS cold as where you are from, right? So it could have felt balmy to you!
I'm glad you had fun despite the weather curse and I look forward to seeing more!
Too bad about the weather - but can't wait to hear all about your trip!
OMG I hate when the weather goes bad on a trip. Glad you enjoyed anyway. Remember I am right up there with you, the kids still call me the storm bringer. crazy I know.
At least you did get some great shots!
Fabulous Disney photos Angela. We have spent 4 weeks complaining about 6 inches of snow so after reading your blog will stop complaining and count myself lucky.
I was wondering where you were off too! What a wonderful get-away, especially after the craziness of Christmas! Glad you're back, though.
Thats stinks about the temps but I'm glad you made the best of it and had fun. Great shots :)
