Even though the butterflies seem frantic in how rapidly they move their wings, there's something hypnotically peaceful about them. Sinister, almost. Look how they've captured these two women under their spell:
And then one of the women was turned into this butterfly, (or maybe my eyes deceived me):
These butterflies were having an identity crisis and were uploading butterfly information into their databases:
And this last shot was a bit challenging. I was determined to take it, but while I pressed the camera shutter, a butterfly decided to hurl itself at me and sit on my shutter finger, not budging through 6 or 7 shots:

Wow, I think I would definetely FREAK! Butterflies are *almost* the most scary thing to me! Glad you enjoyed them. :)
That is awesome! My husband loves butterflies! He would so love to visit the butterfly conservatory!
I love butterlies' fluttery goodness! Love the colors in these!
I saw on GoodReads that your current book is Sarah's Key--I finished it recently.
Love these, especially your commentary :) I was so disappointed to find out that due to budget issues, our zoo did not do a butterfly exhibit. They are one of my favorite things to shoot.
I love these---the colors on that last butterfly are unreal! I've never seen that species before; beautiful!!!
Your thoughts are as witty as your photography is stunning. I love your blog posts, my friend!!!
Wow, cool shots! Love the detail in that butterfly!
LOL i love how the butterflies have them under their spell!
Love butterflies and did go see an exhibit but your photos are way better than mine! And your writing - love it!!
Very cool, I have never seen that there before. I will have to check that out.
Awesome! Love, love, love butterflies around here!
Brilliant shots - great definition. We took the kids to a butterfly farm while on vacation one year - I do believe that had any of the butterflies decided to park itself on Allyson she would have freaked out (not a bug person at all!)
Beautiful shots! Though I had to laugh at the rainbow comparison and then seeing a black and white, with a bit of red, butterfly. ;)
That last shot is beautiful enough to frame and display. Have you thought of displaying some of your photos on a wall?
Beautiful butterflies!
