In between seeing Brian, Doug and I were free to wander Minneapolis, anywhere our little Garmin would lead us. And like the zombies in "Night of the Living Dead," we returned to the place we knew and loved: the Mall of America.
Brookstone always appeals to us, because of all the massage machines you can sample. But this display really caught our eye:
Imagine! Being "called" when your grilling food reaches the perfect temperature! It just made us laugh! And could someone look any dorkier?
Next, we checked out the wall of frogs:
And then we headed to what is now one of my favorite restaurants: Crave. The food is wonderful, but if you luck out, as we did, and are seated in a corner, you have the perfect spot for people watching on two floors at once.
I thought this little interaction, that I could spot from the floor above, was very entertaining: two exhausted shoppers taking a little break from one another.
I wasn't quick enough with my camera to catch two little girls lapping up water from the fountain (not a drinking fountain!) before their mom intervened.

I've only been once. We flew in for the day to power shop and power shop we did. There was no time to people watch. And why do they sell frogs? The local toy store sells them too. Huh?
I love the Mall of America and that amusement park in the center. I also love to people watch like you. Those frogs are pretty cool in a weird way.
I'd love to take my DD there. My DH and DS would rather be shot! The mom and DD taking a break is so telling:)
Night of the Living Dead - there was a blast from the past. Great vantage point for these shots - love the mother and dd time-out.
Very fun!
yucko... drinking out of a fountain
I want to go!! And I LOVE people watching...oh heck, I love shopping and eating good food too! :)
Never been to Mall of America and I so love shopping!! I am a people watcher and would love to sit in that restaurant and watch the epeople walk by!!
The MOA is awesome, even though I am not really a "shopper" it is pretty fun to go people watch there!
I've never been to Mall of America. Looks like loads of fun. I love the Grill Pager display. Too funny. Too bad you missed the shot of the girls lapping water out of the fountain. Good story, though! :)
The MOA is an unbelievable experience--it is truly at 3-day shopping tour if you are going to do all the stores. Do they still have the great Lego store/exhibit? LOVE the time-out you caught. The Grill-Master--Lame-o! "Oh, excuse me--my steak is paging me"
Don't you just love to people watch?! I need to be brave enough to take pictures while doing it.
LOL looks fun! I would love to go there!!
I want to visit Mall of America, I bet it is so much fun! And that first shot, before I even read your comment, I was think "Nerd Alert"!!! GMTA!!! :)
