The test is over; I just can't embrace my new Canon s95 Point and Shoot. It's fine; it's not bad. . . .but it just doesn't make my heart go "pitter patter."
I got a point and shoot for Christmas, thinking it would make my purse weigh 700 lbs less, and would be easier to carry around while slogging and trudging through the snow.
And. . . . it was a lovely thought, but I just never felt like taking it out of my purse and taking photographs with it. I do have some photos taken with it, and will be happy to have those later, but they don't tend to be photos that I love, or photos that I'm excited about taking.
So, my Nikon D300s is (and acting a little snug about it) back in my purse. . . and calling my name again! (my little precious!)

I passed over the p&s to my son a year ago - at this stage in the game it just frustrates me to use it. And is that a Blurb book I see? I have yet to put together a book from last year's blog - I just haven't figured what route I want to go this year. Last year I used Shutterfly which means I have to reprocess every picture without my watermark across it.
I have a point and shoot, and it's good for some things, but the more I learn about using my "big" camera, the less I enjoy using the little one. It serves its purpose, but no, it doesn't excite me, either.
I always keep a P&S in my purse, and actually do use it. I am too lazy to bring the "big camera" wherever I go. Did you use blurb for your book?
I keep my XTi in my purse 99% of the time and when I finally upgrade to (hopefully) the 7D, I will just buy a bigger purse ;)
I'm with you on the P&S. I tried the Nikon P7000 when in NY because my D700 was so heavy. I returned it the next day because it just wasn't well my D700. I carried all my gear around after that. Happy shooting with the 300.
Got a point & shoot too - but rarely use it - unless I go to the beach. Love my big camera too much!! ;)
Oh I think I steered you wrong on this one! Didn't you ask about it awhile back? I love having a P&S in my purse - always have. But I just got my big camera in August, so a p&s is what I've always been used to. My big camera wouldn't even fit in my purse unless I emptied everything else out. And I'd be afraid to bring it with me everywhere I go.
