I am so excited by this post! First, by my count, it's the 100th post for the Photo of the Day thread! AND, it's the first sign of something green actually growing outside next to my house!
There's little clumps of snow (snirt) here and there, still, but these brave little plants are busy transforming the landscape, according to their own time-table, no matter how much more snow we may get.
Oh, and I wanted to correct something from my post yesterday. That nasty looking snow squall was on the drive home from Missouri. The speed limit on I-29 is usually 75 mph, and we snaked our way north, single file, at about 40 mph (except for those poor folks who slid off into the ditch!). BUT, about 40 miles south of Grand Forks, the snow stopped! We were spared this little provocation and could leave our snow-blower snoozing in the garage.
Even if we get more snow, it won't last now. Now, the ground is not frozen, the sun is more intense, and these plants are going to start emerging all around us! (someone cue the hallelujah chorus here now!)
