Ms. Canada Lilacs

Even though my husband had a minor fender-bender in the Target parking lot, between our clunker 1996 Minivan, and a Canadian's BMW, we LOVE Canadians! Even if our mini-van tried to squash one like a bug.

And to prove it, here's a photo of the most beautiful lilac tree in our yard. It's a Ms. Canada Lilac tree, and tends to bloom slightly after the more familiar purple (or lilac) lilacs. The blossoms have a raspberry coloring to them.

And between the lilacs and the blooming chives, my frogs are looking intoxicated with summer-joy and bliss!

Beautiful. I love lilacs, but mine are long gone for the year.

Oh Angela, a question ... I was just looking at your siggy and noticed you have the tamron 28-75 and nikon 35. I have the tamron and love it and am thinkng about the new 35 mm. Do you use both or do you find the nikon redundant with your tamron? TIA.

I have never seen lilacs like this. They almost look tropical. What a gorgeous color! I love pink. Also, do you collect frogs? You had some frogs a while back to which we all contributed captions. Are those also from your backyard?

thanks Angela. I have the D40 also, but the new 35 is an auto-focus lens. My tamron is my go-to lens also, so I'm just considering how much I might use it. thanks for taking the time to answer! :)

I just love your photos - I've been such a chicken about shooting manual and going RAW, but I'm FINALLY doing both. Manual is still really really hard for me, because the brain juice output seems to stunt the artistic aspect of photography. But for now. It will get better.

Tell me it does get easier.

I'm so glad my husband is a technogeek, b/c I sure don't have it.

Oh no, sorry to hear about the fender bender...but you make that even sound a bit funny. Glad no one was hurt (other than pride maybe and the cars).

Love the lilacs. I haven't seen this color before and it is stunning.

Yep, those frogs definitely look giddy with joy!

Those are gorgeous, I always forget what lilacs look like until I see them in pictures. Your frogs are cracking me up.

The lilacs are so pretty. Speaking of Doug's fender bender in the Target parking lot, I had one in Sam's parking lot. I didn't have my camera with me making me realize I should always have it. You just never know when you will need it.

Beautiful captures! And the frogs do look amazed at all the beauty. Do they have sippy cups too?
