The Wacipi. . . continued

This is a little booth of dreamcatchers set up at the Wacipi:

We might edit photos; sometimes a person's just gotta edit feather placement before the dancing:

I found this moment quite moving. This is a group of people lining up to shake the hands of people who had earned degrees, at any time, at the University of North Dakota. The elders led the line. I was touched by the mix of worlds of the Native American military woman shaking the hands of, and honoring, this elder and graduate.

And here is another shot of the same man.

Thank you for all your kind words about this set of photos. If you ever get to North Dakota in April, be sure and see if you can attend a Wacipi!

I just have to say again how gorgeous and touching these photos are. The colors are amazing! Love the stories behind them, also. I love that first shot of all the dreamcatchers.

Dream catchers! There's my "Dream" theme again! One of these days I'm going to have to get me one!

What a beautiful tradition of honoring the older NDU graduates! Very moving!

I am so glad that you continued this series of photos; it has been a feast for the eyes and a trove of information. I found the last photos very touching, especially with the elder. It's too bad our culture doesn't honor the elderly like that.

Very cool! Our society could learn a few things about respect from them. Great captures!
