And why is this little group gathered, and waiting. . . .
And what is this line for? What's in this cooler? Knowing what's in the cooler would probably shed light on this mystery.
Ewwwww!!!! What is that ugly blob? (blob, not bob.)
It's a freakin' butt-ugly catfish! (And you HAD to see it in the larger photo format, of course!) The so-called Cats Incredible (yeah, right.) tournament in Grand Forks, with big buck prizes, and a fine excuse for. . . . ummmm. . . . drinking. . . .
The fisher people. . . (oh, heck. The fisher MEN. Notice the predominance of male fisher-folk with their coolers) bring their ugly, ugly fish to the table to be weighed, measured, and applauded. . .

Eeueueuwwwww! I don't think there's a word to describe how repulsive these things are! Do you know that when you clean them, you have to skin them because they don't have scales? UGH. I think the fishermen have to be pretty lubed up to enjoy catching one of these uglies!
Eeueueuewwwww! Where is Doug's shot gun? Cat fish are indeed U.U.Ugly! Great shots - but Eeuw!
Ewwww is right. These sucker can get so big. I like the way your photos tell a story. Love the slide they go back down.
Yuck. Now there's a face only a mother-fish would love. LOL!
He's not ugly he's just misunderstood lol! ha ha... Great post. I've never seen a catfish before and didn't realize how big they get!
How about "fishersen?" Elizabeth Lowell uses that word in one of her novels . . .
That is one funny festival!! But they are so UGLY !!!
They are ugly and they can get really huge. Bob caught one last year and it stung him on his arm. He said he is going to use gloves the next time he handles a cat fish.
This made me laugh out loud! Catfish are kind of ugly. They definately have a face only a fisherman/woman could love. Great captures!
