Snirt, because the mixture of snow and dirt makes snirt, and we have it all over the city right now, in ugly, ugly pox-like piles waiting for a hint of above-zero temperatures. Witness, one of the pox:
So next time, when you are in traffic and consumed by road rage, please think twice before wishing a pox on your fellow drivers, because it could be a snirt-pox.
"But Wait, Angela!", you might say, "what about white balance? You've got all middle-grey! Fix that white!" Nope, this is it; it IS middle grey all over North Dakota right now, until the month of Snirt-Pox is over.
"But Wait, WAIT, Angela!", you might say, "you can't possibly leave us with such an ugly picture!" And you're right; I can't.
Here's something that won't make your retinas explode, like snirt-poxes. Here's a beautiful cyclamen that's been bravely blooming all winter in my office:

Angela, you are clearly the most entertaining blog-poster that I have read. And you just seem to keep on getting more humerus each time I read you. Are you sure you aren't some famous writer using the Pen name My Pixelated Oasis?? Snirt-Pox!!! Hilarious...you should submit that to the "MN Department of Re-naming" and I bet they will!! Dirty snow - makes me think of the Dentine gum commercial about 'dirty mouth' - freshen up with Dentine! If only!!! we are mud mud mud - but I'm not complaining.
Now, that made me laugh. Reminded me of living in NYC amidst the giant piles of dirty snow.

Well, I do have a fondness for the month that brought forth my son, and corn beef and cabbage (not necessarily in that order, or in any order), but I completely understand snirt. Snirt begone! That cyclamen is so beautiful! Thank goodness for that bright spot in this abysmal winter!
