"There must be some kinda way outta here!"

"There must be some kinda way outta here!"---Bob Dylan, All Along the Watchtower

I'm with you, Santa! Time to put our feet up and take a break from the Christmas merriment/preparation.

And here's a few shots from outside the front of my house, at 1:36 am, hoping to see the total lunar eclipse on the winter solstice. I speak truth; I KNOW it was this time; I checked my exif data on the photo!

I couldn't see the eclipse because we were also in the middle of a snow storm and there was too much cloud cover. But look how bright it is! I think there was also a full moon (and an eclipse?????) and the reflection against the newly falling snow creaed the most incredible ambient light. I didn't use any flash for these shots!

Aww, too bad you didn't catch the eclipse, especially for staying up so late to see it! We had a clear crisp and COLD night here in Alaska. It was beautiful. AND...wasn't too late either! All the action happened between 10PM-12AM!

I can't get past all that snow in front of your house . . . and the fact that you were out there (on purpose) in the middle of the night to . . . check out an eclipse . . . ?

I can't get past all that snow in front of your house . . .

It looks so quiet in that last shot! No eclipse here either, it was too cloudy. :(

I'm with Santa! I love how reflective snow is-- all it takes is just a little bit of light and it feels like the whole world is lit up.

Oh wow! Love love that light!! I think that was worth being up at such a horrendous hour. No eclipse viewing here--too snowy, too cold (I know, I am a wimp, but I am in Iowa, too)and much too late for this earlybird.

We didn't stay up. I didn't realize it would be so bright! I understand it was clear here and our friend Walt got some really nice shots. I see if I can get them to you.
