But I did not. Ugly though it was, after it's unfortunate collision with . . . --my open purse! on the floor- -. . . my family and I still managed to enjoy this Kahlua Expresso Chocolate tart. It WAS still mostly intact on top of the bottom of the tart pan, and the floor was relatively clean. (Literally, moments before, I had cleaned up the clean (filtered, even) water that had poured from my refrigerator all over the floor. (Yeah, it was me that spilled the water.I was THINKING, deep thoughts, while filling a glass of water.))
But, Note to Self: It's NEVER a good idea to leave my purse lying around, open. I've had even worse "issues" with it in the past which should have thoroughly taught me a lesson by now.

5 second rule - certainly Martha would understand. Happy New Years to the Angela and Doug clan. :)
ROTFLOL! Oh, Angela, I so commiserate with you! This is what happened to me January 2009: Coldest day of the year so far; had a flat, had my car towed to a tire place; took all day; as they were backing my car out of their garage, they rear ended my car; needed extensive body work; they gave me a rental; as I was transferring all the junk from my car to the rental (cell phone charger, iPass, ice scraper, etc.) I spilled my own coffee inside my purse; I laid the purse on the ground while I ran inside the car rental office to ask for paper towels and somebody ran over my purse and mangled it irreparably. Let's just say I've had better days . . .
BTW - the tart still looks delicious and the chocoholics in my family would insist on invoking the 5-second rule (even stretching it to 2 minutes as long as there are no dogs).
Also, whenever my aunt Lala came to visit, she hated to see anybody's purse on the floor. She would literally get goosebumps. She said it was bad luck to set a purse on the floor and would immediately pick it up and put it elsewhere. Judging from your experience and mine, maybe she's got something there . . .
