Look at these beauties! And in another week or so, it's going to be even MORE beautiful in here!
I posted this photo on the forum at proudphotography.com, where I'm taking a class, and what bit of feedback I got, which I agree with, is how nice it would have been if I had taken the shot when the woman working in the background, on the left, had been at the end of the leading lines. The suggestion was also that an F/13 might have provided the focus I was looking for.
Some day, the setting selections will be more sencond nature for me, but I'm still at the point where I think I ALMOST have it down. . . and then realize I don't!
My settings: F/6, 1/30, Tamron 28-75mm @ 31 mm; custom white balance, shot RAW, ISO 200, tripod.

So pretty. Can't believe how close it is to christmas!!
Sounds like a good class and helpfull cc from classmates. ~Jackie
I am so much enjoying your love of pointsettias! Keep 'em coming! Personally, I think a worker at the end of the center line would be distracting; I didn't even notice her on the left. Plain poinsettias hold their own! Thanks for these. ML
Beautiful!
I don't think I'll ever have it down but it's fun trying. ;)
This uneducated eye thinks it looks beautiful as is!(for what it's worth) Ü
Really pretty! I am almost ready to start going manual! I need to keep practicing.
Boy, it sure is getting to be "that" time of year, isn't it? You're inspiring me to go make the LONG drive up to my favorite nursery!
sounds like you are learning lots! I love all the color here.
It took me a minute to find the woman even with you saying where she was. I'm not sure I agree, but I'm certainly no expert. It would be fun to see a photoshopped one with her in a different spot to compare.
ahem! great color but I believe that you are violating one of the golden rules - that is no Christmas photos until after thanksgiving ; )
I love those leading lines!
I know what you mean about the settings. It does become more second nature, but I still have those times when I blow it!!
Like the lines on this. Pretty red color. I just love poinsettas. When we got married my dad had a 12 foot christmas tree made with them going round and round for me. I loved it.
I know what you mean about "almost" having settings down and then you find more to learn and think about. But this is a great shot!
It must be great to get such detailed feedback. This is a beautiful shot regardless :)
MMMM! Color, warmth---BLISS! Did you get any of that nasty blizzard that went through the Dakotas?
