Waiting on the Red River

On Saturday, Doug and I headed down to the Red River and waited. We waited ON the Red River.

And it's not every day that, while you're waiting on a river, you huddle close to the fire to keep warm.

I thought the sunset was particularly beautiful from the river.
Tomorrow, I'll show you what we were waiting for.

Well, you're certainly not waiting for the ice to break--first thaw's a long way off yet. Gorgeous sunrise, though!!

Lovely red sunset on the red river. Looking forward to seeing why anyone in their right mind would venture out to the river in crazy cold weather - but there you go, what is crazy cold to one, is balmy chill to another. (Floridians freeze to death when they get as far north as WV - I wear a light jacket, they wear a down coat...)!
